After Years of Whacking and Bashing, Oracle Pivots into Cloud

Bangalore: Oracle Chief Larry Ellison who was once against hottest trend in technology; cloud computing, has now cold heartedly surrendered to the benefits of cloud. Ellison, well known for his cloud bashing techniques had called it a fad, nonsense and even "gibberish."

"What the hell is cloud computing?", Ellison had once asked about the cloud platform.

But now, the Oracle czar himself is speaking out the contributions of cloud and has been positive about it. Oracle’s intentions were clearly proved when they stated that their latest innovations will be featured at Oracle’s OpenWorld Show 2012, where their future vision, on expanding the Oracle Cloud from a software as a service (SaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS) into the infrastructure as a service (IaaS) market will be announced.

Of late, the tech world has seen Oracle getting a massive makeover in their cloud strategy. They changed their name from Oracle Fusion to Oracle Cloud owing to a lot of internal development along with some key spending on acquisitions.
