BANGALORE: The country has seen high growth in the e-commerce sector over the years. From startups to business giants the country’s online business portals have came a long way. As the online market is getting bigger the challenges are also big for these companies. The competition in the market is getting tougher for each company.  We could see thing heating up as Amazon has announced ‘Great Indian Festive Sale’ in order to challenge Flipkart’s ‘Big Billion Day Sale’, reports Business today.

As the festive seasons are the most profitable seasons for the retail as well as online business. All the major e-commerce companies in the country are showering the consumers with sales. As Diwali and Vijaya Dhashami are on the way the marketing for the grand sales have already started. Flipkart has already announced the ‘Big Billion Day Sale’ which will be happening from 13th to 17th October whereas last year the sale was only for a day. The sale will have massive discount over 70 categories of products including apparels, gadgets, footwear, furniture and many more.

Amazon has announced their sale on 16-17th October, unlike Flipkart their sale won’t be an App only facility. It will be supported in the mobile sites as well as desktops. Amazon is also offering HDFC cash back during its sale a 15 per cent discount on app-based purchases and 10 per cent for shopping from its website.

Another e-commerce portal Snap deal is not so lagging behind as their vice president of category management stated that "We will bring together a set of mega deals for consumers every Monday across different categories. We will also have great offers running through the month until Diwali across a wide range of categories,”
