OUR PROGRAMMES

SCMLD’s Programmes on Executive Leadership and the Advanced Programme in Executive Leadership are self certifying, skill building, training & development courses for employability in private sector and / or entrepreneurship. These are unique programmes outside the conventional education system. It is a private initiative with no recognition or approval from or affiliation to any government, statutory bodies or universities. Those who wish to have formal educational qualifications may pursue on their own any open university or local university programmes as they like and are eligible while pursuing the SCMLD programmes provided they are able to work hard and be responsible for all aspects of such programmes / institution / university etc. SCMLD programmes are for leadership, employability and Entrepreneurship only. However Employability does not mean guaranteed employment. For employment, students must partake of all learning facilitation, pass the tests and emerge fit to be employable as per the requirements of the employers’ work and expectations. If one is studious, diligent, sincere and focussed and do not waste time, employment is easily possible as organisations are looking for work ready and performance driven youths. SCMLD will offer all possible support and learning opportunities. However, learning is the responsibility of each student. If so placement will happen. If not, it will not happen.

(a) SCMLD's Program in Executive Leadership [SPEL]

First is of 11 months followed by 2 months internship. The second will have 6 months class room coaching and 3 months internship / social project / research according to the interest of students. This will be sectoral as well as function specific. Facilitating “learning” (not mere studying for exam), understanding business and entrepreneurship realities through action learning / assignments, projects, thesis, portfolios etc will be essential aspects of this advanced level coaching. Focus will be on facilitating development of applied insights in students to make them easily adapt to organizational work and quickly become 'performers'. Making them competitive and competent to be employable at the earliest is the objective.

First one month will be for induction, orientation, unblocking inhibitions, removing fear & anxieties and bridging the gap - preparatory process for learning. Next two months will be for understanding business very comprehensively. We will make the students to know - what is business, business plan preparation, accounting & reporting, business analysis and execution, entrepreneurship and so on.
Personal development as an individual being, and as a professional, communication, basic maths, statistics, economics, economic environment, computer skills, public speaking, team working, analytical skills, data and information processing etc. will be components for the next 3 months or so..

Then we will go over to the basics of basic functions of business – Market Research, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Operations, Information System, Logistics, Supply Chain, Inventory, People factor etc. – This will be for next 3 months.

The next 2 months will be for deeper understanding of one area – Marketing, Finance, HR or Manufacturing & Operations along with deeper inputs in Business Strategies and Advanced Level Computer Skills, Data Management and Analytics. In between, students will go for the 10 day vipassana camp, 3-4 days Art of Living, Factory Industry visits, out bound camps etc. During these 11 months, they will also do involve in “Action learning and Leadership”, Out of the Box thinking and action, doing mini businesses and earning, etc. Complementing all these will be our “Man Making” unique processes which every student has to go through. Before they are over to internship, there will be a 3 day transformational self-discovery camp in addition to usual out bound, seminars, workshops and so on. These 11 months will be very hectic and it will change paradigms and most of them will become stronger and better. Habit patterns will also change. First 3 months at SCMLD will be very tough for the lazy, unorganized, casual and the undisciplined.

(b) SCMLD's Advanced Program in Executive Leadership [SAPEL]

For those who clear the SPEL or Post Graduates of select streams or graduates with work experience

Here focus is on advanced level coaching / learning in a selected area - Marketing, Finance, HR or Manufacturing & Operations - with deep sectoral alignment. As per choice / interest every student can choose as to which area he / she would want to specialize. The advanced level program has lot of field assignments, library research, action learning, group studies, learning by organizing focused events followed by a 3 month business plan preparation and execution / social projects, or industry / NGO projects as per the choice of students. The focus here will be employability and entrepreneurship aligned towards the market – professionalism. The first 11 months are for individualization aligned to business realities and developing the strength and stamina to face the business world. Lot of unlearning and demolition of negative habits will take place. The next 9 months are for professional growth.
