XAT 2012 Registrations Deadline is Nov 30

Bangalore: If you haven't registered for XAT 2012, it's high time you do as Wednesday, November 30, 2011 is last date to register for it.

You can apply for XAT 2012 by visiting the XLRI website and register online. The payment can be done online. Otherwise, you can also visit the select Axis Bank branches to make the payment. The XLRI prospectus would be sent to the address as given by you at the time of XAT registration. The XAT 2012 application fee is Rs. 900.

Candidates are required to have acquired a Bachelor's degree under 10+2+3 system from a recognized university or a deemed university. Those completing their final examination may also apply.

XAT 2012 scores will be accepted by 101 B-schools across the country. Of these 16 are core member institutes, while the rest are associate institutes located in different parts of the country.

Though earlier it was announced that XAT will have 70 associate institutes, but in the final list, the number has seen a rise indicating the growth and wider acceptance of the exam for shortlisting applicants by the B schools.

Some of the well-known names in the B school list for XAT 2012 are XIM Bhubaneswar, XIME Bangalore, XISS Patna, XIMR Mumbai, SPJIMR Mumbai, IFIM Business School, We School Mumbai, LIBA Chennai, BIMTECH Greater Noida to name a few.

XAT 2012 exam will be held in the traditional paper pencil based format. The duration of the test of 2.5 hours, to be held from 10.30 a.m to 1 p.m.

The sections of the paper are: Data Interpretation & Quantitative Ability, Analytical Reasoning & Decision Making, and Verbal & Logical Ability. XAT also has a question on Essay Writing whose duration is 20 minutes. XAT 2011 replaced the question on Essay Writing with Analytical Caselet. The difficulty level of the exam is predominantly tough. It is known to be the toughest of all the MBA entrance exams.
The test will be held in 38 cities in India which are Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Berhampur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Goa, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mehboobnagar (Andhra Pradesh), Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Surat, Trivandrum, Vadodara, Varanasi, Vijaywada and Visakhapatnam.

XAT 2012 will also be held in four international centers, which are Colombo, Dhaka, Dubai and Kathmandu.

Admissions are now open for two-year MBA (Agribusiness Management) programme from 2012-13 academic section along with its flagship (Rural Management).
Selection: Short-listing through IRMA Written Test scores or national level exams - CAT, XAT, MAT or TISS.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for GD/PI to Bhubaneswar/Bangalore/Delhi/Kolkatta/Mumbai.
