Rotaract is the youth wing of Rotary and a service, leadership and community driven organization for young men and women between the ages 18-30 years. Rotaract focuses on the development of young adults to excel as good leaders in our communities and at workplaces.

About the Event
Rotaract District Council 3190 has organized a cultural festival ROTAFEST 2012 a platform to promote and display the talent of young, dynamic college students. This event aimed in bringing together a host of colleges from across Bengaluru to compete for the top honors as well as attempts to foster a spirit of friendship through service.

3) Group dance
4) Prince and Princess of Rotafest
5) Photography
6) Battle of Bands
The event was held in KLE college, Rajajinagar, Bangalore on 7th Oct 2012 and the event was graced by the chief guest Dr. Anand Rao, The Director of Welingkar Institute of Management.

IIBS participation in the event
The overall coordination of the event was by Prof Shanti and Student Coordiantors Mr. Pankaj T and Devdutt from the senior batch. IIBS Students have participated in the following events;
1) Group Dance
2) Mad Ads
3) Prince and Princess of Rotafest

Group Dance
Eight teams have participated across various colleges from Bangalore. Each team had performed extraordinarily and there was immense competition.The team from IIBS consisted of eight members. They have given a good competition to all other teams. The judges’ comments were fair and in a short duration the team was confident and equally competent. They have come up with a good choreography with assistance from the senior batch by Mr. Rajan Prasad and Ms Priya Singh.

Mad Ads
Seven teams have participated for the category Mad Ads. IIBS team consisted of seven members. Again, here the competition was tough and our team has performed exceedingly well. The orator has put up a hilarious job and the crowd really enjoyed and appreciated the performance.

Prince and Princess of Rotafest
12 participants have participated for event out of which 4 students have participated from IIBS in this category.
The first round included a written test and each participant was given 5 general questions in order to check the knowledge and comprehension ability. The next round was on stage round in which depending on their answers questions were asked. The participants had to be smart and spontaneous. Their presence of mind and personality was evaluated. IIBS students have showed a very good performance in both rounds.

Rotafest 2012 gave a good platform to display the talent of our students and exposure to world outside college. It helped them to know their strengths and weaknesses. Students have become more confident and equally competent. Such events always help to enhance the healthy competition among students and they are looking forward for more inter college events. This event also witnessed the bonding between students of different batches.

The results of Rotafest 2012 will be declared on or before 25th Oct 2012. The selected team will get the opportunity to perform on the mega event of Rotafest, which will be held on 4th Nov 2012.

We are very thankful for our Director Dr Ramdas Sir for giving us an opportunity to participate in the event Rotafest 2012. We are also thankful to Miss Shanti Mam for supporting us throughout the event. Once again, we thank IIBS College for giving us opportunity to participate in the event.
