Registration for JMET Begins

Bangalore: Joint management Entrance Test (JMET) has begun registrations for JMET 2011 in the first week of September and the last date for registrations is 2nd week of October, 2011.

The Joint Management Entrance test is a national level admission test conducted for the aspirants of management students by IITs and IISc for tits two years full time Postgraduate Degree Programmes in Management offered by the IITs. It is a multiple choice objective type examination with 180 minute duration. The question paper constitutes of 120 questions and is divided into four sessions,

• Verbal Communication: 30 questions
• Quantitative Ability: 30 questions
• Logical Reasoning: 30 questions
• Data Interpretation: 30 questions

There will be negative marking for each wrong answer, 0.25 marks is deducted for each wrong response.

The eligibility criteria vary according to the institute the students opt for. The common eligibility for appearing for the examination is four years engineering degree with 60% marks or CGPA 6.5/10 from the recognized institute or university or the Masters degree in science. The M.Sc candidates must have 60% marks in the bachelors as well as the post graduate level. The candidate belonging to the reservation category will get needed relaxation in the minimum mark criterion. The candidates appearing for the final year of qualifying examination is also eligible to appear for the examination.

Candidates can apply for the exams by online only. The candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of the JMET. The application fee cost Rs.750 for general and Rs.350 for the reservation group. The fee is payable either through core banking, by taking the challan from the official website and paying the fee in the ICICI bank, or through the credit or Debit card.
