The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has frowned on its plan to admit students straight after the completion of the school and offer them to take the choice between a three-year BBA equivalent qualification and a five-year management diploma.
The ministry view is that students may be attracted with the promises or rewards for joining IIM Indore The students who joins here will not have a degree after three years, unlike the students of regular colleges. IIMs cannot offer degrees, either BBA or MBA, because they are not part of any university. They can offer only diplomas.
IIM Indore now decided to offer only the five-year integrated program. However, IIM Indore is still planning to explore the possibility of affiliating with a university within the India or in overseas to offer degrees for the students who prefer our program.
