More colleges accepting GRE for MBA admissions

Bangalore: Today, more and more colleges across the world are accepting GRE scores for MBA admissions. Till now, about 600 business schools around the world accept GRE General Test scores for MBA admission, which includes seven of the top ten MBA programs.

The trend is more common in US, Almost all universities in United State and US territories are accepting GRE for its MBA programmes. Canada’s Queens School of business and Harvard business schools are famous among them. Recent MBA colleges added to the list include Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, and the Leeds School of Business at University of Colorado – Boulder.

Business schools started considering the GRE test scores as a tool to broaden the candidate’s pools. GRE’s introduction to ETS Personal potential Index is another plus mark for admission in to MBA programs.GRE is going to launch a revised General test, that also measures the skills business schools value by 1August 2011. The GRE revised General Test will provide a better measure of skills necessary for success in today’s demanding graduate and business program. About 675,000 people from 230 regions take GRE annually; among that India is the third largest testing country for GRE General Test. US and China comes second and first.

In India institutions like ISB, Hyderabad are accepting GRE scores for engineering and MBA. Other than these, institutions like Aegis school of business, Aryans Business School, International School of Management Excellenece, Lovely Professional University and MBA, TA Pai Management Institutions are also accepting GRE for MBA programs.
