MICA celebrates the convocation of its 18th batch

The 18th batch of MICA’s flagship Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Communications) course graduated today.Mr. Nitin Paranjpe, CEO & MD, Hindustan Unilever Ltd and Executive Vice President, South Asia, Unilever was the Chief Guest for the evening. In attendance were members of MICA’s governing council Madhukar Kamath(Chairperson), Group CEO and Managing Director, DDB Mudra Group, Anantha Babbili-Professor,  Communication & Media Studies, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, USA,  Hema Viswanathan,  Director, Barometer Research, Mumbai, Indu Shahani- Sheriff of Mumbai, Principal, HR College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai, J. Ramachandran- Professor, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, Nagesh Rao- President & Director, MICA, Sandeep Menon-Industry Professional & MICA Alumnus, Bangalore ,Santosh Desai- Managing Director and CEO, Futurebrands India Ltd, New Delhi and KGK Pillai- Executive Registrar, MICA.


In true MICA fashion, the convocation started with a tree planting ceremony to commemorate the chief guests’ visit to the campus. Mr. Paranjpe, in his inspirational address to the batch mentioned “As future leaders, you should craft a new model of growth – because we must find a way to decouple growth with depleting resources and recouple growth with societal welfare. I hope for you – the courage to do the right thing. May you make the right choice.” Professor Nagesh Rao, in his motivating address said “keep the affection alive. MICA is home – you’ve got to be back soon”


Proud parents, friends and faculty watched on as Mr. Nitin Paranjpe conferred the diplomas. Mr. Nitin Paranjpe, then presented the medals to toppers of the batch. The coveted gold medal was presented to Phalguni Aneja, the silver medal to Pooja Jha and the bronze medal to Priyanka Bhatnagar and Silky Agarwal.


The MICA year book and the MICA News, which is the annual newsletter were also released on the occasion.  As the convocation procession left the field, MICA bid adieu to the graduating batch hoping the very best for its outgoing students.
