LPU NEST 2015: All you Need to Know

Conducted by Lovely Professional University, LPU NEST (National Eligibility and Scholarship Test) is an entrance exam for admissions to the Universitys Engineering/B.Tech Programmes.
 
The exam, this year, will be conducted in three phases. While, the first phase of LPU NEST 2015 will be held from April 20 to May 30, the second and third phase exam will be conducted from June 1 to June 30 and July 1 to July 25, 2015 respectively.
 
In the year 2014, over three lakh candidates registered for the exam. According to the official website of LPU, LPU-NEST 2014 was the biggest private entrance test conducted in India (overall (Government (Centre & State) as well as Private) and fifth largest exam in India after JEE (Joint Entrance Examination), AIPMT (All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Test), GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering), EAMCETin 2014.

Eligibility:
Aspirants can apply for LPU-NEST 2015 only if they fulfil the below mentioned exam eligibility criteria:


  • They should have completed or should be appearing in their final 10+2 examination in 2015.

  • Need to appear in their 10+2 from any of these education boards – Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi) or The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE, New Delhi) or State Board or any other Council, Institution, college etc. declared recognised by Council of Boards of School Education (CBSE), New Delhi or any other concerned apex body as applicable.
LPU-NEST 2015 Eligibility Criteria for qualifying exam
B.Tech Admissions
To apply for B.Techprogrammes, aspirants must have scored 60% (aggregate marks) in 10+2 or equivalent exam with Mathematics, Physics and English as subject. However, in case the candidate has scored less than 70% then such aspirants should possess a valid score in LPUNEST–2015 /JEE (Main).
LPU NEST 2015 Application process:
Candidates can apply for LPU-NEST 2015 online on the official website of Lovely Professional University www.lpu.in. Candidates can obtain the exam kit from the University Campus by providing Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Lovely Professional University” payable at Jalandhar.
LPUNEST-2015 Kit may also be purchased from Flipkart through their website (www.flipkart.com). Once the exam kit is obtained, students need to submit the application forms in any of the ways:
Manual:


  • Carefully read the all the instructions as specified in “Instructions for filling Application Form (OMR sheet). After this, fill the full application form(OMR sheet)

  • The second step is to paste a recently taken passport size coloured photograph.

  • The last step is to send the self-addressed envelope provided in LPUNEST-2015 kit.
Online application with DD: Aspirants here need to apply through University website. Please note that for this method, no Internet banking facility required.

  •  Fill the application form available online at the official website of LPU

  • Take a printout (Laser or inkjet only) of the completed application on a good quality A4 size paper.

  • Enclose a DD(demand draft) for 300/- drawn in favour of Lovely Professional University Payable at Jalandhar.

  • Paste a recent passport size colour photograph along with signature of the applicant and send in good quality envelope to this address:  Division of Admissions(LPUNEST-2015) Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar- Delhi G.T. Road(NH-1), Phagwara, Punjab(India)-144411

  • Aspirants need to write their Name and “Application for LPUNEST-2015” on the back of the DD. Please retain a photocopy of the filled application and DD for future reference.
Online application:
Candidates applying for admissions at LPU by this mode need to follow the LPUNEST exam process as mentioned below:


  • Fill the application form at the official website of LPU. 

  • Pay Rs 300 through online payment.
For online application, candidates should have:


  • Softcopy of their recent passport size colour photograph.

  • Softcopy of their signature.

  • Internet banking facility through Debit card/Credit card/Net banking for paying application fee.

  • Note: It is advisable for candidates to take a printout of the computer generated LPU NEST application form for future reference
Incomplete applications:
Incomplete applications (For e.g. Declaration not signed, DD wrongly drawn, DD not enclosed, Photographs not affixed on the application etc.) will not be processed and entertained. LPU will not take any responsibility to inform these applicants. These candidates will not be able to access the Online Slot Management System.
Thus, aspirants need to be careful and ensure that the application form is duly filled and dispatched along with other enclosures complete in all respects.

Online TEST date booking system
After submitting the application to the university, applicants need to use Online Slot Management System:


  • To book Test Slot

  • To download e-hall ticket from the website

  • To check the allocated slot by the university. (If applicant has opted that university will book the slot).
IMPORTANT POINTS FOR ONLINE TEST BOOKING PROCEDURE

  • A slot once booked cannot be changed. By default request for change in test centre, date or slot will not be entertained. However under exceptional circumstances the request for change in date or test centre for LPU NEST- 2015 may be considered only after receiving a written application on prescribed form along with the processing fee of  200/- from the applicant.

  • In case of non-availability of slots in a centre of choice, the applicant may choose to book a slot in an alternate centre.

  • If for any reason, including poor response of applicants for appearing at a particular centre, a test centre has to be cancelled, the applicants who had opted for that centre will be allotted another centre. The LPU will inform such applicants individually through registered e-mail ID and Mobile Number.

  • The online test booking system is available only to those eligible applicants who have submitted the application forms complete in all respects on or before the last date mentioned in “Important Dates for LPUNEST-2015”

  • It is the responsibility of the applicant to book their test schedule in Online Slot Management System in the given time frame if he/she has chosen that booking of the slot will be done by the applicant in the OMR sheet. LPU will not be held accountable for the non-bookings. The application/ entrance test fee will not be refunded under any circumstances for such cases.

  • The confirmation mail will be automatically sent to the email address after the applicant has booked his/her schedule through the online slot management System.
LPU NEST 2015 Syllabus

The syllabus of LPUNEST 2015 includes all the topics present in the Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Biology curriculum of Class XI and Class XII.
/>LPU NEST 2015 Exam pattern:
LPU’s engineering exam encompasses multiple choice objective type questions.  The exam consists 90 multiple choice questions which candidates have to complete in 120 minutes.
Depending on the course they are applying, aspirants have the option of opting for either for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Physics, Chemistry and Biology entrance exam.
Marking: For every question attempted correctly, aspirant will be awarded 1 mark each. There is no negative marking for wrong answers or unanswered questions.
LPU NEST 2015 Exam centers:
LPUNEST 2015 would be conducted online in 110 cities across India. However, please note that the test centres will be operational on all the days except Public Holidays and weekly offs. Also, in a few cities, test centre will be operational on specific days of the month only.
