IIM-A’s paycheck. in, a portal that offers transparent sector specific wage rates all across India will now soon monitor the minimum international wage standards in regions such as Europe, West Asia and Asia Pacific. Indian Institute of Management (IIM-A) handles the research for this website and Biju Varkkey, an IIM-A faculty member leads this research. However, the technical infrastructure of this website is taken by a non-profit-Amsterdam-based company, Wage Indicator Foundation.

Besides minimum wage rates, the website will also provide information on women’s labour rights across countries. Presently, for developing a database of salary structures, website allows its visitors to fill in the details related to their current employment such as incentives, salary and educational background, which is further added into the existing database.

Not only jobseekers, even the companies are required to fill in their wage structure details which gives an idea to job seekers about what salary to quote during interviews. For security reasons, the portal does not disclose personal details such as name and companies etc.

The website also offers prizes such as an iPod or trip to Africa to encourage visitors for filling up the questionnaires. The portal also has a special section called VIP paycheck, which details the salary structure of celebrities such as Sachin Tendulkar, Britney Spears, Serena Williams and Hillary Clinton.
