Bangalore: IIM Raipur is ready to welcome its third batch of students which is likely to have around 120 students. IIMs across the country have decided to declare their admission criteria beforehand for the convenience of candidates. Owing to the decision, IIM Raipur has said that the selection of students will be based on CAT scores. It is to be followed by a Written Ability test and Personal Interview. The Personal Interviews and written analysis ore to happen at centers in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore.
The IIM Raipur will take the CAT 2011 scores into consideration for the admission process for the 2012-2014 batch. The cut off percentile is set at eighty percentile of CAT.
The criteria for being shortlisted in the Joint Admission Process are:
CAT Scores are given a fifty percent weightage, Personal Appearance (PI and WA) is given thirty percent and Profile is given twenty percent weightage. In the Personal Appearance area, out of 30 per cent weightage, 10 per cent weight age is given to the Written Analysis and 20 per cent weightage is given to the Personal Interview round. Academic profile, work experience and diversity are included in the Profile of the candidate. Work experience and diversity is given twenty percent weightage while Academic Profile is given thirty percent.
Diversity:
IIM Raipur identifies the chances of distorted student structure in favor of male gender and Engineering and related subjects at graduation. It attempts to balance out the opportunities among different subject streams and genders.
Female candidates are given fifteen points while male candidates are not awarded any scores. Under the criteria of Educational Background, non-engineers are given a score of 1 while engineers are not awarded any score.
