IIFT announces exam date and application deadline

Bangalore: The written entrance exam date for admission in IIFT Delhi and Kolkata for the academic year 2012-2014 was announced by the IIFT (Indian Institute of Foreign Trade). The two hour test is set to happen on Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 10 am to 12 noon. Candidates who qualify after the written test will be called for Group Discussion, Essay Writing and interview. The test will be held in 20 cities.

Eligibility: Candidates holding recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline can apply. Candidates appearing for a qualifying exam can apply only if they submit proof of requisite qualification by October 7, 2012.
Important Dates:

The last date to obtain the prospectus by post is Monday, August 22, 2011.
The last date for sale of prospectus across the IIFT counter is Monday, September 5, 2011.
The last date for the receipt of the completed application is Monday, September 5, 2011.

The IIFT announced the entrance exam on Saturday, July 16, 2011 in the leading national dailies. The IIFT entrance exam is the first MBA entrance exam of the season to be announced. The exam will be conducted in the paper pencil format. The exam is going to be held in 20 cities- Ahemdabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwhati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Visakhapatnam. The essay writing, GD and PI will be held in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai.

The paper pattern: The entrance exam has four sections-Quantitative Analysis, Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning and General Awareness. The preceding IIFT entrance exam had 135 questions, which was more compared to the IIFT 2009 exam, which had 122 questions and the difficulty level of the exam was moderate.
