Ghatowar inaugurates tourism management course in IIM Shillong

Shillong: A 6 month certificate course in Tourism and Hospitality Management was inagurated at the IIM Shillong by DoNER Minister Paban Singh Ghatowar.
Ghatowar said "The North East Region Vision 2020 document advocates that a structural transformation in the economy can only take place by creating and enhancing the multiple dimensional capacities that are linked to the human resource requirements for expanding the primary, manufacturing and the service sectors." Ghatowar said his ministry will ensure that the vital development sectors of the region are given due attention and appealed to the youth of Northeast to take full advantage of such opportunities.
The course is being conducted with the assistance of North Eastern Council and is aimed at developing quality human resources which will help project the region as a vibrant tourist destination, an official statement said.
