Bangalore: The Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi has trashed its own entrance exam it conducts every year for its MBA and PhD programmes and has switched to the CAT exam for its 2012 admissions after the University expressed its inability to conduct the exams.
FMS Delhi will offer 200 seats for the MBA program and 30 seats for the Doctoral program. Two- thirds of the seat capacity at CAT 2011 test centers has already been filled. And applicants looking forward to taking the CAT and getting admissions into prestigious institutes are acting fast. The FMS application process will start from Wednesday, September 21, 2011. The last date to apply is Wednesday, November 30, 2011.
The eligibility criteria for candidates to get admission into FMS are: * Candidates applying for the MBA program should be a graduate in any discipline. * Students from Arts or Social Science background should have a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent; * students from Science stream should have minimum 55 per cent aggregate; Mathematics and Statistics students should have 60 per cent aggregate; students of medical or engineering background should have 60 per cent aggregate or 6 .0 CGP.

The registrations for CAT exam are currently on. The last date of the CAT 2011 Voucher Sale is Monday, September 26, 2011 and the last date to register online is Wednesday, September 28, 2011. The CAT 2011 exam will be held from Saturday, October 22 to Friday, November 18, 2011. The candidates can fill up the FMS Delhi forms online and the application fee is Rs. 750 for each program. After the candidates are shortlisted on the basis of the CAT 2011 scores, the next level of selection will be on the basis of Personal Interview and Group Discussion.
