Bangalore: As the economy varies from good to bad and worse, half the world is economically down with the financial crisis, hence doing an MBA in this period has become an issue of debate among the students as well as the subject experts. Due to recession, students are in a fix about their career option in the business administration, whether to study MBA or pursue any other degree. The academic year for MBA students has been good as they finished their graduation and are employed. In all the colleges the recruitment process was not stopped, the companies did come to the campus to interview students for jobs. Recession should not be a reason for not studying. A degree in MBA is any day worth it. A survey that was done recently said that many countries have been affected due to recession but India is the only country which has not been affected much.

Many companies are planning on a back-up for these situations and have made our expectation high by employing freshers. An MBA is an important decision for most students not only because it engages a significant investment of money and time, but also because it is essential for making a career change for some people. But, selecting your specializations is important for the students as it helps to search a job better. Keeping in mind the current market situations, choose the appropriate specialization, because a specialization can either make or break your career. It is advisable to do a research on your desired industry and find out the best available recruitment options. Also, before enrolling in any particular B-school, inquire about their career placement statistics.

A recessionary environment can make the MBA investment even more attractive than usual. It's the right time to do an MBA, to upgrade your profile and get trained. The recession period can be a great opportunity to prepare oneself and be ready for the challenge in future. An MBA course takes two years to complete and by then, the economy would have bounced back. And with an MBA you can help equip yourself with more knowledge, latest technology and get into the economic world easily and widen your networks.

Anyway, it's better to decide well rather than idle with thoughts of the recession.
