Programme
The 2-year full time AICTE approved Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is designed to develop world class management professionals with a strong value system.
Well established and perfected over a period of time, its industry oriented syllabi and curricullum is constantly updated to remain contemporary as well as futuristic in orientation in order to groom managers to be ready to meet the ever changing demands of global business.
‘Learning by doing’ methodology encourages our students to go beyond the class room and gain first hand experience of managing in real world. Our student-centric approach provides flexibility to students to study courses of their choice and earn dual specialisation from amongst a large number of elective and innovative courses available .
Programme Structure
Jaipuria Institute of Management follows a trimester system of study. The entire 2-year programme is therefore divided into six trimesters. The programme comprises of a total of 35 courses of three credits each, of which 23 are core courses of study and the remaining 12 are elective courses. Each course of three credits consists of 24 sessions of 75 minutes each, i.e., 30 direct classroom contact hours.
Students can earn a dual specialization by taking elective courses in any two functional areas of management. Finance, Marketing, IT, HRM and International Business are the most popular areas of specialization. Each specialization area offers many innovative courses for emerging careers in management.
Jaipuria follows a continuous system on assessment and evaluation for measurement of learning outcomes by students. Each course therefore assesses learning by a blend of quizzes, assignments, case / exercise analysis, discussion / report submission, project / term paper, mid-term examination and end-term examination.
The curriculum is so designed that in the first year core courses are covered to strengthen knowledge of fundamentals in all areas of functional management to enable students to gain a holistic perspective of general management besides building on the essential communication, computer and quantitative skills.
Summer vacation between the first year and second year is utilized for summer internship to gain first-hand experience of working in the real business world and also for application of class room learning to manage the prevailing challenges of industry.
The second year provides opportunity to choose courses in the chosen area of specialization customized to career aspirations of students and the industry requirements. The three trimesters in the second year are geared towards an in-depth understanding of the respective fields of specialization. Thus, making students industry ready for taking on real life challenges.
