Guru Kashi University, Punjab About: In the year 1699, Sri Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of Sikhs, visited Talwandi Sabo (District: Bathinda, Punjab) and stayed here for about a year. He blessed this place as ‘Guru Ki Kashi’ i.e. Place of Knowledge and Learning. True to His blessings, the town is humming with educational activities. The place is also known as ‘Damdama Sahib’ and is one of the five temporal seats of Sikh Religion. With the blessings of Tenth Guru, ‘Balaji Educational Trust’ was established in the year 1997, with a mission to uplift the area by creating world class education facilities. In the year 1998, the Trust started Guru Gobind Singh Polytechnic College, which is now a famous polytechnic of the area with an intake of 1200 students.
