The College, having about hundred acres, is located at Erumapatty about 15 Kms from Namakkal, the headquarters of Namakkal District. The site is adjoining the Namakkal - Thuraiyur State Highway and in the gorgeous background of Kolli Hills. The fresh air, sweet medicated water seeping from Kolli Hills, well known for its medicinal plants, and vast area make the campus very healthy. The serene area provides a conductive atmosphere for the students to concentrate on their studies. The existing building consist of Administrative Block, Electrical Engineering Block, Electronics and Communication Engineering Block, Computer Engineering Block, Library Block, Conference Hall, Hostel Blocks, Two Messes, Amenities Block and Residential Accommodation for the staff members of the college. The total building plinth area is 3,50,000 sq.ft and the estimated value is Rs. 25 crores.
Computer Lab
The Computer Laboratory in the college is in excellent performance by having more than 500 Pentium - III machines with colour monitors each running @ 650 MHz with 64 MB RAM connected to a Pentium - III based file servers @ 850 MHz and 1000 Mhz with 120 MB RAM, 20 GB Hard disk, networked on Ethernet backbone with LAN / Unit connectivity. All the latest software are installed and 24 hours lab service is provided to the students. The Multimedia Kits have also been set-up for the students to develop their knowledge with creativity. The lab is centrally air-conditioned.
Training & Placement Department
One of the main responsibilities of the P&T Centre is to motivate and prepare students for successful performance at interviews and subsequent interaction with employers.The students have formal and informal discussions regularly with the P&T staff regarding their future plans.They are trained to prepare effective resume and are advised to follow decorum and department and develop communication skills.
Arranging interviews (on and off campus ) to the students is the core business of the PAT Centre and to achieve this objective, the P&T Centre is constantly in touch with prospective employers to ensure that they seriously consider VIT students through the P&T Centre. Many reputed companies (listed below) regularly visit our campus and recruit the students. Our alumini who work in these organizations do contribute their mite to the success of our efforts. AMS Alumini Association disseminates all the information through its group news letters / mails.
Entrepreneurship Development Programme conducted by the Centre, pay much attention to vital aspects of Entrepreneurship, such as business opportunities, working capital management, motivation exercises and export opportunities.
Hostel
The Boys hostel has been arranged separately for the boys. The Hostel is provided with fans, tables, costs, chairs, phone facilities etc. The mess is run on dividing system basis. The mess menu will be arranged according to the taste and preferences of the students by having joint consultation with them then and there. T.V facility has also been arranged with all regional languages and foreign channels. In future it is proposed to provide one computer in each room of the students to spend their leisure time in a beneficial manner. The Girls hostel has been provided with attached bath rooms and separate women wardens. Phone, Cots, Fans, T.V. Chairs, Tables are also provided.
