Installing Java

I have get the dvds today. But In the tutorial there is shown to JDK 6 Update 16 with NetBeans 6.7.1 and we have in the dvds JDK 1.5 ,1.6, 6.0 and netbeans is 6.0.1, 6.0
So what version of software we will have to install.
