SMOT Placement:

SMOT is very much aware of the fact that placement is an important outcome of a professional MBA program. In fact, SMOT has gone way ahead in securing not just a job to its students but it will ensure that the students get the best fit job.

The placement process at SMOT School of Business aims to synergize the requirements of the corporate world and the aspirations of the students.

Internship Program
As an intergral part of our curriculum, PGDBA students are required to Intern with an organization for a period of 2 months. This Internship has dual objectives. First, it allows the student to apply the concepts learnt in the classroom and develop their ability to define and analyze a specific managerial problem and search for its appropriate solution. Second, it gives the student a chance to experience the present corporate environment and appreciate the interpersonal and influencing skills required to excel in the workplace. With this hands on experience, the students come out of the Internship with a thorough understanding of corporate challenges and its demands.

The organization benefits by acquiring, for a short period, a keen mind equipped with analytical capabilities and theoretical inputs to tackle any immediate issue it may be facing. The organization also gets a chance to observe an SMOT student at work, and they could decide to offer final placements to them.

The two month internship is at the end of the 12 month of the 24th month course. Students are required to complete their assignments and rejoin campus.

Campus Recruitment Program
SMOT has a healthy mix of students who are freshers and with work experience. Lateral placements are encouraged for students with relevant work experience. Companies conduct a Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) or an interaction before the selection process. The Pre-Placement talks/ company presentations are an opportunity for the corporate to interact with the students, understand their expectations and apprise them of the job requirements and job profiles offered.

The schedule for the Campus Recruitment Program is decided on a mutually convenient basis. If a company is unable to visit the campus the students are sent to Corporate for placement
