PRAKASAM ENGINEERING COLLEGE is sponsored by the Amma Education Society. The members of the foundation are eminent personalities in various walks of life such as education, research, industry, business and administration.

To make the institute bloom to rank as one of the best in the state, transforming into a technical institution of excellence imparting quality technical education incorporating the day-to-day developments in field of Technical Education.

"Unemployment can be curbed only by inculcating literacy, professional education and technical skills to the youth" it is this thought that took shape into Amma Education Society in 1997. And later prompted to start Prakasam Engineering College in 2001.

Today we are working to achieve this cherished goal. Brains behind the thought Three ranking academicians and social scientists manage the educational society: Sri Dr Kancharla Ramaiah , Secretary & Correspondent Sri I C Rangamannar , Chairman Sri T V Subbaiah , Treasurer All members being basically educationists and entrepreneurs endeavored to make the institute bloom to rank as one of the best in the state, transforming into atechnical college of excellence imparting quality technical education incorporating the day-to-day developments in the field of Technical Education.

OBJECTIVES :

PRAKASAM ENGINEERING COLLEGE aims to achieve the following goals:

To raise itself as a centre of excellence through integrated educational, academic and industrial research and consultancy services.

To actively participate in the development of technical manpower and physical infrastructure for enhancing the country's credibility and stature.

To undertake cooperative research in the industry for upgradation of current technologies and development of new ones, to improve quality and cost effectiveness, while participating in the ongoing process of globalisation.

Postgraduate Admissions

The students are admitted into the two year postgraduate programs in two categories. The first category, Category-A seats constitute 70% of the total seats in the college. The Category-A seats of the M.Tech programmes are filled through Convener depending on the PGCET or GATE rank. The Category-A seats of the MBA and MCA programmes are filled through Convener depending on the ICET rank. The second category, Category-B seats constitute 30% of the total available seats. The Category-B seats are filled by the management through the news paper advertisement.
