Fremont: This year the Harvard Business School is going to notice an alteration in its statistics for the MBA class. It is recorded that the ratio of women is greater than the men comparing to the previous year’s statistics. According to the school, the total population of the MBA class for 2013 is 918 students out of which 39 percent is female. Tracking the statistics for the previous classes it was observed that the number of women enrolled was 36 percent.

School spokesman Brian Kenny said the school's admissions strategy for increasing diversity has evolved over the past several years. Among the international students, 10 per cent are from Europe and 13 per cent from Asia and the South Pacific. Just 4 per cent - 37 students - are from Central and South America.

He said Harvard Business School has no preset targets when it comes to industry, geographical or gender representation. The 2013 class will receive greater number of students from various backgrounds like science, engineering and manufacturing. While the students from consulting and finance is comparatively low.
