MBA students are eying big name technology companies. Nowadays the trend has become common among MBA graduates. Employer-branding firm Universum has recently conducted a survey and it shows that MBA graduates are more interested to make their career options in technology fields than in business. Universum surveyed 6,297 business school students from 72 leading MBA schools.

The survey says that tech and engineering companies have climbed up the rankings for this year’s most desirable employers. Google and Apple are topping the list for MBA graduates. At the same time once the favorite, banks and financial institutions slides down the list. According to the survey, the top ten ideal employers include Google, McKinsey & Company, Apple, Goldman Sachs, The Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, Facebook, Amazon, J.P. Morgan and Nike.

More Technology firms are eying MBA graduates mainly because of the candidate’s ability to fuse management, business and technical wit to form a much profitable and enjoyable career. B-school students are pinched to the challenging work environment that is common in technology companies. It shows a competitive and intellectual challenge will be the prior career goal among this year’s MBA graduates.

Nevertheless, the trend is not that much translated to employment. MBA Grad’s are still interested in companies like McKinsey & Company, which kept the job security and opportunity at the top.
