Management Development Programmes
Since it was established in 1956, as a result of the enterprising collaborative initiative of the corporate world and the government, the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI- as it is popularly branded by the participants who have passed through its portals), has been at the forefront of executive development in the country. ASCI pride itself on being the first and foremost institution for practicing managers.

ASCI's unique blend of management development, consultancy, research and information technology pursuits are structured to prepare practising managers to confront managerial issues and challenges. Inputs are aimed at assisting them to achieve competitive dominance in environments surcharged with rapid technological obsolescence, woefully short product life cycles, fiercely competitive globalizing markets, confrontationist activism and ethical governance, among others.

Modeled originally on the world-renowned management institute at Henley in the United Kingdom, ASCI is the only institution in India that covers its annual operating expenditure solely from its training, consultancy and research activities without any grants or assistance from either the Central or State Governments in India or national and international organization.

Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital Management
The need for professionally trained hospital managers is being increasingly felt in Indian hospitals, whether private or public, new or old, large or small metropolitan or not. This is largely due to growing recognition that performance levels of hospitals in various managerial and functional areas are falling short of standards that are known to be achievable.
The ASCI Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital Management is a two-year residential full time Programme offered by ASCI and recognized by AICTE. The Programme comprises four semesters, three semesters of residential training followed by one semester of internship training. The duration of each semester is 25 weeks.

The Course curriculum has been designed to cover the conceptual and qualitative skills needed by administrators/managers in contemporary hospitals. The Programme is rigorous and practice oriented with a teaching approach that combines classroom lectures with case studies, team discussions and presentations and field visits to a wide variety of hospitals.

During Internship, the participants undergo training in the various departments of public and corporate hospitals that have been empanelled for the purpose in order to understand the objectives, structure, workflows and overall functioning of each hospital service. The internship is designed to help bridge the sometimes-significant gap between academic preparation and the field of practice. Each participant is supervised and mentored during internship by a practicing on-site manager and faculty from ASCI on management problems of specific concern to the participating hospital. All participants who have completed the Programme have found placements in leading hospitals in the country and abroad.
