My achievements
As mentioned earlier every step we have taken over the years is filled with good memories of people who have supported us, guided us and encouraged us to reach this level. Designing the various concessionaire outlets at T3 terminal, Delhi has been one task that peps us up everytime we look back and propels us forward to seek newer avenues to grow and diversify into.
Important lesson learned
Life is a wise teacher that guides you and at the same time even throws a googly to test you. Thus one has to pick up various threads at various junctures to learn from and imbibe what is good and overcome wrong things and hurdles. Be grateful to people you work with including your staff as they are the face of the organisation and help the organsiation grow. be supportive of new comers and guide them in the right direction to prevent them from doing mistakes that you have learnt from.
My strongest skill
Education. Working as chef has taught the value of perseverance and patience. Its a grueling job if taken seriously, but if one enjoys the work its a breeze that takes you places.
Qualities needed to become a successful leader
Be humble and grateful. Be happy in whatever you do and share with your fellowman and colleagues. Change with changing seasons and times to evolve and be in sync with the time and the necessities of the profession. Lead the team from the front with dignity and face the world with a smile.
Brief description about me
A chef turned entrepreneur who is still very passionate about cooking. Have evolved with time and run a company call 'Young Turks' providing one stop hospitality solutions for new start ups and existing players. From merely doing menus for F&B projects to putting together concepts, Business plans, Kitchen plans and training the team, we have come a long way since the inception 10 years back. Taking one step at a time, we love to encourage new start ups and guide them to the best of our ability.
Am a family man with wife and 2 kids.
Influenced by
a lot of people whom we have met and come across during our journey so far have contributed to our growth and presence. Right from the early days in college when we learnt to chop onions, the teacher has been the guiding force and my elder brother who has always encouraged me to do what i want.
Degree that I recommend
To get the basics right, one has to learn the complete skill sets in any hospitality school of repute and then gain some hands on experience in the industry. Then depending the area of specialization add on courses are available internationally to master the skills further. An MBA degree certainly gives the additional boost and knowledge to reach the next level and pursue the dreams.
Initiative to develop a country
To share knowledge and help others grow and stand on their feet.
Thoughts on Education system of our country
Education is a mixed bag with various boards and styles of teaching. During our early days we had jr.kg and sr. kg and so forth. But now the new born is hardly 18 t 24 months and he is put in play-school to get climatized to new faces and communicate. But not everyone can afford these playschools. So the government has to take steps to provide education to one and all. But it fails to reach due to inherent corruption in the system. Thus working towards means and methods of doing away with corruption will lead to significant change in average human life, growth and education.
My role model
During the course of my second job in the hospitality industry, my boss who was the CEO of the company always encouraged me and guided me towards my goal of going independent and starting something. He was the guiding star and i always used to look upto him and still do. At a very young age he achieved success and grew by leaps and bounds and has been an inspiration for thousands like me.
Ensuring success
Keep abreast of the industry and trends in my field. Meet people and visit F&B places to know about the things in vogue. Visit trade exhibitions to meet and network with people from the industry.
My family background
My dad was into service and always encouraged us to do what we like and love and not to go by what the society is doing. My better half is into Interior Designing and she is a big help and support. Both kids are into schooling.
Important decision
Quiet a few.... to begin with leaving a secured job to pursue the entrepreneur bug was the foremost decision, that has shaped the years thereof. Continuing with what i love and not buckling under pressure and falling prey to lucrative offers during the course of the journey has also been another of those decisions.
More about myself
One has to chase the dreams, however far fetched they may look or sound. Once you have made up the mind, there should be no looking back or mulling over the next step. One has to go with the flow of the stream and take risks to reach the destination/ goal.
Couple of years from now
Spreading the wings and setting foot in various cities or Countries to spread out and offer our services. Its a passion to see the company bloom into a global entity.
