Could you tell us briefly about your family background?

I am a daughter of a retired Navy Officer. Mother is a home maker and have 1 younger sibling who is currently working in the US as software professional. I belong to Haryana but born and bought-up in Mumbia. Now married with a kid, settled and working in Pune.

Plans For The Future:

I am working as an HR professional and have 6 years of experience. From few years from now I see my self appearing for an all India exam where I could be eligible for being a professor at management institutes and impart HR knowledge.

Job Profile:

I lead the HR cell in my organisation and is responsible for all the activities of the department.

Prized Accomplishment(s):

I have set-up HR department of my current and former company and in process gained expertise of the same. Currently end-to-end HR activity is migrated onto HRMS module and thus making HR online for our employees across board.

Currently I am involved in all gamuts of HR department where as in my previous organisation I was compensation and benefit specialist.

Role Model:

My previous organisation's HR head is a strong personality. His passion of continuous learning after achieving a position for himself is very inspiring.

Degrees That Matter:

Studying and achieving HR degree from govt recognized management school is the best certification under my opinion.

Growth Strategy:

Continuous reading and keeping my self updated with latest HR process in the industry by the medium of attending conferences and meeting professional of the HR fraternity and communication with my team-mates gives me immense confidence to achieve current position.

The Decisions That Matter

I started my HR journey with an IT start-up. This has been the most important and fruitful decision of my profession career.

Done Differently:

I do not want to change anything or any one whom I encountered throughout my journey till date. If given a change I would love to utilize spare time that I unknowingly wasted into something more productive that would had help me gain some experience.

Advice For New Professionals:

I always say this- no matter for how long you work in an organisation, building positive bond with colleagues, seniors, team-mates and juniors is very important and I rank it above performance.

With the advent of userfriendly technology,daytoday activities have become simpler and carry a lot more meaning.6 years ago we used to work manually and it would consume most of our productive time in unnecessary updating and managing paperwork. It has also helped in measuring performance accuratly.
