SentinelOne Boosts Cloud Security Portfolio with PingSafe Acquisition
"SentinelOne, a prominent AI-driven security company, has announced its intention to acquire PingSafe, aiming to bolster its cloud security solutions significantly. The incorporation of PingSafe's cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP) will supplement SentinelOne's current cloud workload and data security features, culminating in an integrated platform. This platform is tailored to improve overall coverage, hygiene, and automation throughout businesses' entire cloud infrastructure".
The integration of PingSafe’s CNAPP into SentinelOne’s Singularity Platform represents a paradigm shift in cloud security, presenting a unified security platform empowered by advanced AI-driven security operations in real time. This strategic approach aims to eliminate the necessity for multiple disparate solutions, offering comprehensive management of the entire attack surface from a single unified platform.
Ric Smith, SentinelOne's Chief Product and Technology Officer, expressed excitement about the acquisition, stating, “By incorporating PingSafe, our goal is to redefine cloud security by merging top-notch cloud workload protection, AI, and analytics capabilities with a modern and inclusive CNAPP. This innovative approach to cloud security is intended to streamline management processes while delivering real-time insights crucial for effectively identifying and halting multi-stage attacks”.
The acquisition aligns with SentinelOne’s strategy to expand its cloud security portfolio beyond workload security, intending to revolutionize security operations centers. Anand Prakash, PingSafe's founder and CEO, a prominent figure in the cybersecurity community, emphasized the combined potential, remarking, “The fusion of our cutting-edge CNAPP capabilities with SentinelOne’s leading AI security platform will elevate cloud security, providing top-tier protection for multi-cloud infrastructures”.
PingSafe’s CNAPP solution is recognized for its dynamic real-time monitoring of multi-cloud workloads, user-friendly setup, and configuration, as well as low false positive rates, making it a favored choice for clients such as Razorpay and Groww. Through this acquisition, SentinelOne aims to introduce advanced functionalities like runtime and build-time environment secrets scanning and an attack surface management rules engine. These enhancements will complement the core CNAPP offerings such as cloud security posture management, Kubernetes security posture management, agentless vulnerability scanning, and Infrastructure as code scanning.
