Microsoft India Aims to Simplify AI for Enhanced Business Adoption
Puneet Chandok, the newly appointed President of Microsoft India, is leading the company's cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) endeavors within the country. He aims to achieve the ambitious target of conducting 100 client meetings within a three-month span. Chandok articulated the strategy, expressing, "Our mission is to unleash the potential of AI for India and South Asia". Underscoring India's importance to Microsoft, he highlighted the imperative to streamline AI, making it more user-friendly for broader implementation and adoption.
In his initial media interaction since joining Microsoft in September, Chandok stressed the paramount importance of achieving 'AI fluency' as the primary goal. He reiterated Microsoft's dedication to simplifying AI and clarified, "Our plan within the next 90 days is to engage in 100 discussions with top enterprises in India to demystify AI". Chandok has already interacted with 100 customers within the first 100 days of assuming his role.
Recognizing the pivotal role of cloud and data alongside AI, Chandok underscored their collective significance. He delineated Microsoft's collaborative efforts with the government aimed at training 3 million government officers in AI fluency in India by 2024. Chandok outlined the approach to AI adoption in India, focusing on addressing productivity-related applications across various industries such as manufacturing, finance, service organizations, and internet businesses. Concurrently, Microsoft aims to develop extensive language models customized to India's languages, culture, and contextual nuances by leveraging AI infrastructure.
