Got space to spare and food to share to wandering tourists? Airbnb then might be an ideal option to get some extra bucks while being a blessing for tourists who’d like to keep a check on budget. With estimated revenue of $900 mn in 2015, the company is valued at $25.5 bn ahead of major hotel chains such as Hilton, Marriot etc.  Several users and providers have apparently rerouted from providing intended service to facilitate prostitution/hook ups. It appears that is ‘just another way’ to use the service. Snapchat is regarded as a very viable sexting app. After all, user demands drive revenue.

4. Palantir

The California based data Analytics Company is best known for its assisting US government track down Osama Bin Laden and Bernie Madoff. The company since 2009 has received over $215 mn contracts form US government entities such as CIS, NSA, FBI and Defence Department. Fingers have been pointed at the Palantir’s collaboration with the government as an indication of illicit mass surveillance in the name of threat identification. The decision of the company to not go public also adds to this speculation. However, Palantir’s valuation by investors is indicative of the applicability and potential of data analytics in practically every field.
