1. Uber

Currently valued at a staggering $51 bn, UberCab (later renamed to Uber) was founded in 2009 by Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp aimed at providing easy taxi service in San Francisco area. In a couple of years, Uber witnessed a rapid expansion to 390 cities worldwide as the founders were quick to re-strategize the business model realizing the potential of the application. The company has managed to adapt to the market behavior in the different places it sets upon. Uber is often faced by stiff completion from local competitors and policies. Nonetheless, the company continues to drive through success.

2. Xiaomi

Having achieved a staggering 30 percent increase in revenue during 2015, Xiaomi has emerged as the fourth largest smart phone maker after Samsung, Apple and Huawei. The company has also established its presence in India, South East Asia, Brazil etc. Due to his approach, Xiaomi chairman Lei Jun is considered regarded as the ‘Steve Jobs’ of China. In a recent announcement the company has clarified that it has no intent to go public.
