3. Chhau Dance of Orissa

The battle dance called Piaku Nritya prevalent among the tribes of Orissa, West Bengal and Jharkhand. The name derived from the Chhauni military camp is performed during the ‘chaitra parva’ and other festive by the tribes in different states. The dancers perform the Shiva Tandava, Lord Shiva’s favorite dance form to pay respects to him.
4. Buddhist Chanting of Ladakh

There are more than thousand chants practiced in Trans-Himalayan region of Ladakh. These chants are believed to take the performers and the listeners towards enlightenment. These recitations reflect the philosophy, spirit and teachings of Buddha. The monks recite them as an artistic expression as the followers of Buddhism. They are performed either sitting indoors or in the courtyard accompanied by dance. The subtle recitations are worth listening to.
