- The film, described as Zubeen’s 'dream project', is set to release on October 31.
Assam’s music icon and beloved actor Zubeen Garg’s final film, Roi Roi Binale, is creating history even before its release. Scheduled to hit theatres on October 31, the film’s advance bookings opened on October 23 and sold out within two days, with all first-week tickets across Assam snapped up instantly.
The musical drama, which Zubeen had often called his dream project, has become an emotional tribute for fans mourning his untimely death in Singapore on September 19, 2025. The film’s trailer struck a deep chord with viewers, especially a poignant scene of Zubeen by the sea, reflecting on its vastness, an image many linked to the tragic end of his life near the ocean.
In a touching gesture, the Assam government has announced that the state’s GST share from the movie will be donated to the Kalaguru Artist Foundation, a charitable initiative started by Zubeen to support artists in need. Since Assam does not impose an entertainment tax, the film will effectively be tax-free.

Zubeen’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg, shared that she has yet to find the strength to watch the film, saying, “It was Zubeen’s dream project, and we’re taking it to the people just as he wanted”.
Roi Roi Binale is expected to set a new benchmark for Assamese cinema, symbolizing both Zubeen’s artistic legacy and the love of his fans.
