Piyush Pandey, one of India’s most celebrated advertising figures, passed away at the age of 70 on October 24, 2025. The news was shared by columnist Suhel Seth, who called Pandey a genius, patriot, and a true gentleman, adding that India had lost not just an advertising legend but a remarkable human being.
Pandey began his career in 1982 with Ogilvy & Mather India, starting as a trainee account executive before moving to the creative side. Over the decades, he revolutionized Indian advertising with campaigns that became cultural touchstones. His memorable works include Fevicol’s iconic 'Egg' ad, Cadbury’s 'Kuch Khaas Hai', and Asian Paints’ 'Har khushi mein rang laaye'. Pandey’s innovative storytelling and ability to connect with audiences earned him global recognition.
Industry peers, celebrities, and leaders expressed their grief and admiration. Filmmaker Hansal Mehta described the loss as 'Fevicol ka jod toot gaya', while Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman called him a titan who brought warmth, humor, and authenticity to communication.
