President Droupadi Murmu Praises Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par at Special Screening

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is basking in the glory of the overwhelming response to his latest release, Sitaare Zameen Par. The film, which hit theatres on June 20, has been receiving rave reviews from audiences and critics alike. Adding to the celebrations, Aamir Khan hosted a special screening of the film for the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday.
The screening turned into a memorable occasion for the entire team as President Murmu not only watched the sports drama but also expressed her appreciation and extended warm wishes to the cast and crew. Genelia D'Souza, the female lead of the film, shared her gratitude on Instagram by posting pictures with the President, writing, "Truly honoured to meet the Hon’ble President of India... Thank you for your kind words and good wishes for Sitaare Zameen Par".
She further added, "Your presence and encouragement mean more than we can express it’s a blessing we will carry with us always". Aamir Khan’s girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, also joined the actor and Genelia at the screening.
The official X (formerly Twitter) account of the President shared a picture from the event with the caption: “Acclaimed filmmaker and actor Shri Aamir Khan called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan”.
Aamir Khan Productions also posted heartfelt images and a note thanking the President, her family, and staff for their warmth and generous hospitality. "We are truly humbled and overjoyed by how much the President appreciated the film... This will always remain one of our most cherished memories", the note read.
Directed by R. S. Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par continues to shine brightly both at the box office and in the hearts of its viewers, with this special screening marking a high point in its journey.
