Actor Rahul Bhat continues to soar on the global cinematic stage as his latest film, Kennedy, directed by Anurag Kashyap, receives an overwhelming response at the prestigious New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) 2025. The neo-noir thriller premiered to a packed house, with the first screening selling out in just 40 seconds prompting organisers to add a second show due to high demand.
Rahul Bhat, who plays the titular character in Kennedy, has also been nominated for the Best Actor award at NYIFF for his gripping portrayal of an insomniac ex-cop who secretly operates within a corrupt system while seeking redemption. Reacting to the nomination, the actor expressed his gratitude: “I’m truly honoured to be nominated for Best Actor at NYIFF. The love Kennedy has received across the world is incredibly humbling”.
The film, which previously received a nine-minute standing ovation at its 2024 Cannes Film Festival premiere, continues to garner international acclaim. “What’s even more heartening is that this isn’t just a one-off Kennedy has been selling out everywhere it has screened. The global response has been overwhelming”, added Rahul, known for his performance in Ugly.
