SI Team
Thursday, December 11, 2014
Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) is the fastest growing segment of the ITES (Information Technology Enabled Services) industry. Factors such as economies of scale, business risk mitigation, and superior competency have all led to the exponential growth of the BPO industry.
A BPO service provider administers and manages business processes for its clients. Pranav Dalal, Office Beacon' CEO, came to aid of thousands of companies when he launched operations as an untraditional Business Process Outsourcing company in 2001.
Pranav Dalal's journey into business has been punctuated by ventures into several other industries. He began 25 years ago in the telecommunications industry, followed by stints in finance and IT before moving from Toronto to Los Angeles to work with an incubator firm that hatched several successful Internet startups, amongst them PCMall.com and MacMall.com.
"In late 2000, I traveled to India and rented an office, hired five employees and started a business-all within one week,"recalls Pranav. "With some lucky breaks and a lot of coldcalling, I was able to drive enough business that I now have more than 1,500 full-time employees in four countries, without partners or investors.

Exceptional Delivery
The benefits experienced by Office Beacon clients are that their work is produced faster, cheaper and with greater quality by utilizing an offshore labor force. Over the past five years, the company has also expanded into offering sales; marketing and lead generation software solutions to complement its current service offering.

Untraditional Offerings
The firm provides end-to-end solutions. "Office Beacon implements unique and revolutionary software combined with high quality services and competitors simply cannot compete since they only offer one piece of the puzzle," adds Pranav.
Since the Company's production center is based in Vadodara, India, the cost structure remains a competitive advantage. Furthermore, the firm does not compete on price having developed a variety of business solutions; the online tools are targeted towards serving the 25 million small businesses in the US. The company is operational 365 days a year where the software division, called Office Brain offers workflow management software, virtual sampling technology, proprietary ERP and CRM solutions and lead generation technology. On the services side, Office Beacon offers order management, graphic production and call center services to its clients.
One of Office Beacon's biggest clients is Newell-Rubbermaid (a publicly traded company). The current business opportunities lie in the small business SAAS offering that is believed to triple the size of the company over the next years.
Pranav states, "We also have three Internet start-ups launching this December 2014. They include White Label Staffing, an online staffing agency, Rocket Songs, a revolutionary online music publishing company and After You, the world's first global matrimonial app. It seems that one of these endeavors will bring the firm onto the global business stage in a very big way.
