Current job profile

I am now Director of M/S SOLAR Equipments (P) Limited, we are manufacturer of Chemical Process Equipments mostly catering to Pharmaceuticals API manufacturing companies in India. I look after the business development activities of the company.

Prior to entering this business, I have worked 12 years in various Indian & Multinational Pharmaceutical Companies like Biocon India,Lupin Limited, RPG Life Science, TEVA API, Nicholas Piramal & Fresenius Kabi Oncology.

My last assignment was with Fresenius Kabi Oncology as Senior Manager-Projects.

Leadership qualities

I always believe that to get success is easy but to continue with the winning spree is the zeal to retain it in a long term perspective is always difficult. Moreover, to remain passionate about the work you do and to lead from the front which defines success is always important and that’s what I always try to be.

It might not be the quantum of work you get and execute, its always the passion to remain the best in its class attitude contributes a lot to be a successful leader.

Ensuring growth

I believe in business, there is no place for anybody who want to sustain a similar/on going pace and move on, it is about growth on everyday basis, this is required to sustain your position in the market, because in Indian scenario market is always growing, it will not stop for anybody.

My advice

Only piece of advice I would like to give to our upcoming management leaders, be passionate about your work, try to understand (no matter whichever position he/she is working) the business process you are contributing and develop a sense of entrepreneurship.

And in process of developing this sense of entrepreneurship in whichever organisation you are working, you can develop a dream to get into your own business and must have a strategy to develop/ build it and have substantial courage to take a calculated amount of risk as well to convert your dreams to reality in business.

And one more thing I would like to add up, our upcoming management leaders must have an attitude of “ never satisfied with the minimum”.

Doing things right

I have been in Pharmaceuticals Projects for over 15 years now,so pretty experienced by now. Moreover, keeping myself informed about every concerned on going and up coming projects in Pharma sector in India going on and what kind of process engineering solutions clients needs is very important and subsequently develop our manufacturing capabilities in similar lines.

Keeping the quality standards of all Process Equipments we build at its highest level is very important. And to develop a sense of responsibility and trust in minds of our client that we mean business and we look forward to them for a long term relationship and we do it simply by maintaining our quality of work at its highest standard and delivering our manufactured equipments within the given time frame.

Influenced by

I belonged from a very middle class family but my parents always believed that I am sincere to whatever work I get from my childhood and was always a very hard worker and I had the capability to do something big in life. They always encouraged me. In all my tough times both my father & mother stood by me and supported me a lot mentally and kept my spirit high and never allowed me breakdown in any tough circumstances.

I have no hesitation to say, my father and my mother are the only two people in life who has influenced me and made me whatever I am today.

Handling grievance

I have been myself an employee of various Indian and MNCs in Pharmaceuticals sector for 12 years, I am confident that I understand the psyche of any individual employee. I always believe that its not the duration of work any employee is spending at work but its important for me to make sure that every employee should go back home with a smile on his face and feel a sense of satisfaction at work. One should understand there is no scarcity of work in Indian market today in any sector but the quantum of happiness one derives from an organisation does vary.

Important decision

I graduated in Chemical Engineering from Bangalore University in 1998, at that time there was no much number of jobs available in Indian market in Chemical/Pharmaceuticals Industries. The easiest option was to get into an Information Technology Company and leave a comfortable life, moreover, a white collar job. I got opportunity to work on an off track industry in Information Technology way back in 1998 which was not related to my study of Chemical Engineering but I decided to struggle in Pharmaceuticals/Chemical manufacturing company and validate my Chemical Engineering study I did and continued to work in manufacturing sector of Pharmaceuticals.

Today, I can confidently and with immense satisfaction and with no hesitation can say, that particular decision of sticking to my Chemical Engineering services was the most important decision I had taken.

My view on India technological development

Yes, its true at present but will certainly not remain so in the next few years. As our country’s economy grows to the next level, tech products in every aspect of engineering will certainly come up in the market. I am sure about that.

I am 38 years old, I am married and have a daughter who is 5 years old.
