My strongest skill

I always had a dream of graduating from IIT but was not successful.Not able to crack IIT JEE exam I got a feeling that i can never be successful in life and make big....I kept continuing my studies with the habit of being organized and disciplined and completed my engineering graduation in Electronics & Telecommunication [First Class with Distinction]. I topped my engineering college for 4 continues years after being unsuccessful in IIT JEE exam...and this made me strong in fighting failure.In telecommunication industry i hold an excellent blend of hands-on experience in all aspects of Cellular RF Network Planning and Optimization along with skills in Business Administration, Sales and Technical Support of RF products....I would say being disciplined, organized and ethical is what i would define as my key strongest professional skills/attributes.

My role model

My Dad a normal middle class man and a process engineer in a chemical industry is my roll model.Challenges a middle class non business background man faces when the industry in which he has worked for 35 years suddenly closes because of mismanagement and bureaucratic setup without giving any notice to his employees and his whole life savings are struck inspired me towards running businesses ethically. My dad brought me up and made sure my education is not effected during all hard times and his this effort make him my role model. Apart from my dad Mr. MK Gandhi inspires me a lot after i read his book "my experience with truth".

Thoughts on Education system of our country

I create awareness in India about education in universities, colleges, schools and in various cities, and why I do this is that India lack at global levels and there is lot that need to be put in among today’s youth/students, and to bring these changes in India education is the way forward because my strong belief is that through education people get to know what is right and wrong.
Education system in India need professional penetration in rural areas and in urban areas the system need to be more practical and for all this corporate involvement and partnership into this system is required.

My achievements

I feel a person is blessed if he/she has seen failures. I have seen failures on both personnel and professional fronts at quite an early age and these failures made me strong enough to start a MNC in India from my home with support from British colleagues. Over the last 5 years a small company has turned out to be a medium size corporate house and recently Radio Design has won India’s Aegis Graham Bell Award 2013 for “Innovation In Network Sharing” and i feel proud of all these achievements.

Brief description about me

With around 12 years of experience in the field on telecommunication industry and businesses in India and various parts of the globe [USA, Europe & Asia], 36 yrs old Gaurav Chauhan is one of the Board of Director of a British Telecom MNC Radio Design India Private Ltd.Looking back i started my carrier in 2002 as telecom engineer with Tulip Telecom and then joined Reliance Communication for 4 years, Just being a technical guy was not what my focus was instead i use to dream of starting businesses and then in 2006 became a part of US group Powerwave Technologies management team in India, Dec 2008 I started Radio Design India from my home.A close observer of the bureaucratic set- up in India,I emphatically believes that the youth of India has a strong potential to bring India at par with the leading developed countries of the world. With this vision I am actively involved in motivating and encouraging today’s youth to climb the ladder of success in the corporate and social world.

Ensuring success

Being organized, disciplined and ethical are 3 things that i focus on a lot. Keeping myself updated of market, surroundings, social political environment and ability to quickly adapt changes is what i keep doing.

Initiative to develop a country

Professionals should create awareness among youth and students. Being a Director of British MNC I am quite well established but want to bring the change in youth of today especially who are in the field of Engineering, Management and growing students of rural and urban areas. I am trying to push this awareness in all leading institutes/schools as a social cause i.e. my duty towards my country and today’s youth/students. This is my self belief and this give me a sense of satisfaction hence on weekends [sat/sun] I interact with people, 5 days a week I am very busy with my organization. I want to see youth of India as dynamic guys and what a corporate [MNC] look in for in them hence speak on current issues in a interactive session...

Important lesson learned

Trust people with open eyes and try not to get influence from what you hear instead go into the details and come out with your own opinions.

I have been born and brought up in a middle class family of UP [Bareilly] with non business background. My parents have been my roll model and we belong to a Hindu Rajput family.
