QLogic was founded in 1992 and went public on the NASDAQ stock exchange in 1994 after being spun off by Emulex; now a competitor of QLogic in the Fibre Channel HBA market. QLogic's original business was disk controllers but this division was sold to Marvell in 2005.Using a protocol- agnostic approach, QLogic provides end-to-end, integrated solutions that address the broad networking spectrum, including high performance networking and application acceleration solutions sold as adapters, switches and ASICs. Today, QLogic continues to be publicly traded on NASDAQ in the American stock exchange under the symbol QLGC.
