Godmen of India Who are more Famous for Controversies than Spirituality

4. Gurmeet Ram Rahim:

Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim, Chief of Dera Sacha Sauda is one such godman who is well known more for his criminal activities than the spiritual ones. He was charged in a rape case by CBI and is accused of  sexually assaulting women followers of the Dera at the sect’s Sirsa-based headquarters. So, he had been booked under Sections 376 and 506 of the IPC. The Dera chief also has two more charges against him for his alleged involvement in the murder conspiracy against Dera manager Ranjit Singh and a Sirsa-based journalist, Ram Chander Chatterpatti. The most damaging allegation on Baba Ram Rahim is of an anonymous female follower's letter sent to Prime Minister, President which claimed that Baba Ram Rahim had allegedly raped her and at least 50 more female followers in the Dera Sacha Sauda premises.
