Absurd Immigration Policy: Indian Entrepreneurs Prefer Home Over U.S.

Heart of the Problem Today

1. There is a rusty immigration policy that puts up ridiculous obstacles on professionals who want to work in the United States.

2. Only about 140,000 "green cards" or employment-based permanent residency permits are issued each year by the U.S. government.

3. Out of these green cards, only a maximum of 7 percent can go to a particular country. This absurd policy ensures that big nations like India and China gets the same consideration as the smaller countries like Iceland or South Africa.

4. According to National Foundation for American policy, the waiting list for Indian applicants for the EB-3 visa which is the most common for skilled workers is 70 years.

5. Only 65,000 of H-1B visa which allows U.S. companies to bring in workers with specialized talents are issued every year.
