Situation of the U.S. in 2006

1. Around one in four U.S. tech companies had either a CEO or a CTO who had been born in a country other than the United States.

2. Foreign-born employees were behind 25 percent of patents which were secured by U.S. companies.

3. Immigrants from Britain, China, Taiwan, and Japan had launched more than half of the companies in the Silicon Valley.

4. More than one-quarter of the entrepreneurs in the Inc. 5000 were from Asia.

5. India alone was responsible for more than 25 percent of all the start-ups.
