10 Countries with Maximum Press Freedom

Netherlands:
Netherlands ranks second for its press freedom. The index reflects the degree of freedom that journalists, news organizations, and netizens enjoy in each nation, and the efforts made by the authorities to respect and ensure respect for this freedom. Certainly Netherlands scores well on these parameters.

Norway:
Norway takes the third place on the list. Freedom of the press in the country dates back to the constitution of 1814. Most of the Norwegian press is privately owned and self-regulated; but, the state provides press support. However, as with other related countries, the Norwegian media is frequently criticized for being biased towards the political left.

Reporters Without Borders secretary-general Christophe Deloire said “The Press Freedom Index published by Reporters Without Borders does not take direct account of the kind of political system but it is clear that democracies provide better protection for the freedom to produce and circulate accurate news and information than countries where human rights are flouted.”
