16 Indians among World's '500 Powerful People'


Bangalore: With responsibilities come great power and Foreign Policy Magazine listed the 500 most powerful people on the planet. In the present world that looks up to the magnitude of power and possessions as a mark of achievement, it can also intimidate or influence the masses. Here are 16 Indians who made it to the prestigious list.

Manmohan Singh:
India’s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was named one among the 500 powerful people. The Cambridge and Oxford educated economist has a great input in India's economic reforms which led to the growth of the country. Though his abilities have been questioned several times as he was dubbed as poodle, an "underachiever" by various magazines in the past, Singh certainly proves himself time and again.

Mukesh Ambani:
The Reliance Industries Chair and Managing Director continues to be on the list of powerful people. The business magnate isn’t just powerful but has also retained his position as the world's richest Indian for the sixth year in a row. He was recently listed as the 20th richest in the world by the Sunday Times Rich List 2013. Ambani’s RIL is the largest Indian private sector and his team ‘Mumbai Indians’ has been declared as the second largest sports club in the world.
