10 Awesome Data Centers Across the Globe

#8 Princeton High Performance Computing Research Center, Princeton N.J.

This is a 47,000 square foot Research Centre known for its high performance in the Princeton University. The facility is automatically tuned to maximize energy efficiently, earning a renowned Gold certification of Leadership in Energy Environmental Design (LEED) from the United States Green Building Council.

The Automated Logic gear controls the center’s heating, ventilating and air conditioning and the hardware powers diverse studies form propagation of gravitational waves to adding trees to Earth surface climate models.

#7 OVH Data Center, Beauharnois, Quebec, Canada

The Rio Tinto aluminum plant was restructured by OVH to fit according to its model of running data centers with efficient heat transfer.  The basic plan is to have all the hot aisles in the facility back into a central air shaft that carries heat. The company has designed its own proprietary technology such that it does not require air conditioners. Electricity flows from a nearby generation facility hydroelectric power plant.

This new center can house 360,000 servers.
