10 Awesome Data Centers Across the Globe

#6 Deltalis Radixcloud Data Center, Attinghausen, Switzerland

Placed in the Alps, this data center was known to be the former command and control center for Swiss Air Force. Therefore it is completely secured as well as a reinforced one.

Since it is located in the mountains, it takes the advantage of cool air and glacial waters to cool the facility at a reasonable cost.

Within the data centre, the modular units are made by Netherlands-based Minkels.

#5 Microsoft Data Center, Dublin, Ireland

The Dublin facility is Microsoft’s first mega centre in Europe, with an area of 303,000 square feet. The island’s climate is completely ideal for the facility providing great ambience for the hardware inside.

The facility runs at a temperature of 75 degrees with occasional spikes to 85. What seems an advantage for the data center is that, for more than 95 percent of the time, the facility can run without cooling systems.  Mechanical cooling systems alone account for 38 percent of power consumption in traditional data centers. So Microsoft has done away with this using no water for cooling.
