Improving Education system
In India the emphasis of education is more on getting grades rather than nurturing talent and developing new ideas. Spending on education that focuses on research and new approach is the need of the hour. Education at grass root level needs to be strengthened by ensuring every child is not deprived of their right to basic education. It is not just the cities but rural India also needs to contribute significantly in this cause. Corporate can play a significant role by tying up with leading Universities and Educational Institutions for developing the right talent to help in future Research. Developed world are in a position of strength because of the resources spent on Research and development of new Ideas. This can be a driving force for future development of the country.
Parting Thoughts
HR should not just be considered a support function but an integral part which plays a crucial role in aligning each and every individual towards the vision and mission of the company. Business strategies are more effective when HR is involved to drive it at all levels. HR presence is essential in all Business / Review meets.
Advice For Fellow HR Leaders:
We should not encourage employees on bargaining of offer letters. To avoid this key employees need to be taken care so that such situation does not arise. Further proper reference check should be provided as in most cases the HR of previous employees do not reveal the true picture.
