Most Important Decisions
First thing is to join Testing instead of Process management.
Second leave Keane, and to join Nagarro(a smaller company) to learn more about testing.
Third, taking responsibility of quality of this project where client had so many concerns about quality and had lots of bottlenecks.
Currently working at
* Currently working as QA lead in a project of team size 5.

* Preparation of Requirements documents(SRS) and deliver the same to client
Areas for the Future
specialization in automation tool is important like QTP, Selenium will matter most.
In terms of testing domain, Finance/banking domain specialization will matter.
Plans for the Future
Have been able to build automation framework for any project. As a test manager too. :)
Degrees that Matter
As of now certification did not help me to learn more about testing but certification might help to get appraisal or into a good project. Sometime it may help while switching job.
ISTQB or CSTE certifications are good and one should try for. I have completed ISTQB Foundation level.
Required Reading
The website and books that helped me to gain knowledge of testing -

Training material of Keane.
The Journey So Far
I have started my career from Keane and been into software testing through out my career. After almost 3 years I have joined Nagarro as senior test engineer. I have worked in different domain project - Healthcare, Education,Finance,Facility Management.
Currently leading the QA team for last 1 year.
Changes in the industry
QA/Testing industry has changed a lot. When I started my career, then it was few projects in the industry have different testing team sply Finance/banking projects. But now it became mandatory to have proper testing phase and dedicated testing professional for that.
Hope this will grow in future.
Essential Advice
Be open minded and do not assume anything before testing any application. As everyone says 'think out of the box'.
