Android Boss Sundar Pichai Reveals The Future Of World's Most Popular OS
He also talked about the challenges that “without changing the open nature of Android, how do we help improve the whole world’s end-user experience? For all our users, no matter where they are, or what phone or tablet they are buying.”
When he was asked about Facebook Home and how it changes that Android experience, Pichai said that “It’s exciting that Facebook thought of Android first in this case,” and Android was intended to be very customizable and it welcomes innovations.
It is a well known fact that the user’s Android experience may differ of the same version of the OS used in two different devices. But when it comes to Kindle Fire, it’s a whole lot of difference. However Pichai says that under the rules of the license, Amazon can do that and Google would love everyone to work on one version of Android since it will benefit everyone better. “This is not the kind of stuff we’re trying to prevent. Our focus is not on Facebook Home or Kindle Fire. Computing is going through a once in a lifetime explosion. Our opportunity is making sure that this works well for people and solves important problems for them,” he added.
